Carol Shattuck (Chairperson)
Carol is Chief of Staff & SVP, Communications & Marketing at AmeriCares. She has 20 years of experience in management, development, marketing and communications in the private, nonprofit and government sectors. Carol received her Bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College. For 6 years, Carol has overseen the operations of Camp AmeriKids while it was a community program of AmeriCares.
Kate Reilly (Secretary)
Kate began volunteering at Camp in 1998 and has been associated with Camp AmeriKids since. Currently she is Managing Director with BerkleyMed, a W. R. Berkley Company. BerkleyMed is a focused national underwriter of hospital professional liability coverage and a leading provider of supporting cost saving services to its hospital clients. Prior to joining BerkleyMed, Kate was founder and President of Consultative Resources Corporation, a training and consulting firm with clients in the financial services, insurance and consulting industries.
Gabrielle Moss (Executive Director, Camp AmeriKids)
Gaby started as a camp volunteer in 2004, working first as a cabin counselor, then as group leader. After spending 5 years in the advertising industry in New York City, Gaby stepped into the role of Camp AmeriKids director in 2006. She has extensive summer camp and management experience, having spent 10 summers as a unit leader and administrator at Camp Regis in the Adirondacks. She holds a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from Wesleyan University.
Andrew Belden
Andy began volunteering at Camp AmeriKids is 2006. In 2010 he will receive his doctorate in Physical Therapy from D’Youville College in Buffalo, NY. Andy is one of camp’s most dedicated volunteers, and has brought more than 10 of his fellow D’Youville students to our program over the years. He serves as cabin Group Leader during the summer sessions, and supports camp throughout the year with fundraisers, on-line discussion groups, and recruitment.
Robert B. Bristow, MD (Camp Physician)
Dr. Bristow is Director of Disaster Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and serves as Medical Director of Emergency Management at New York–Presbyterian Hospital. He received his SC-MD from the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Bristow has been volunteering with Camp AmeriKids since 1995.
Marsha Edell, LCSW
Marsha is the Director of Social Work at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center. She is also the co-director of the Developmental and Family Services Unit, a model AIDS project serving developmentally disabled children and their families. Marsha has partnered with Camp AmeriKids for years, referring many children under her guidance to the camp program.
Justine Landegger
Justine holds a Masters Degree in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. She has worked for various international relief and development organizations including World Vision, the International Rescue Committee, AmeriCares, the CORE Group, the American Refugee Committee and War Child Canada as well as for the United Nations and the World Health Organization. Her work has spanned posts in Washington, DC; Darfur; Sudan; the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan; Northern Uganda; Cameroon; and Haiti. She graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in Global Health and Development and has a Masters certificate from Georgetown in Refugee Studies and Humanitarian Affairs. Justine has been a volunteer with Camp AmeriKids since 1999.
