Volunteer for a Day

There are a lot of ways to support and participate in the work of Camp AmeriKids, whether at camp in Warwick, NY; at our headquarters in Stamford, CT; or even in your own community! Please read below for some ideas for how to get involved.

Office Administrative Our office could always use an extra set of hands! We serve 250 children and have well over a hundred volunteers each summer. Therefore, we maintain a lot of files and send mailings to keep in touch with quite a few people. Having help with sending applications and invitations to events like the Holiday Celebration and Spring Reunion as well as general support especially as we are in the final stages of preparing for camp (June & July) makes a big difference. Camp Set up Once the camp truck arrives on grounds, it is time to unload and get the campsite prepped. We are looking to recruit volunteers to assist in setting up camp to be ready for all our campers and counselors. Each activity area needs to receive its supplies and all cabins must be outfitted with their required necessities—shampoo, blankets, etc. This is a day for getting the place camped out!	July 21–22

Host a Holiday Gift Drive In December Camp AmeriKids hosts our annual Holiday Reunion Celebration! It is a great day for all the kids, their families and the volunteer staff to be reunited in an afternoon of entertainment and treats. At the conclusion of the event, each child is sent home with a brand new holiday gift. Every season we seek assistance from individuals, corporations and community groups to host gift drives so that we can provide each camper with a brand new toy for the holidays. Your help makes a world of difference. Please consider running a toy drive in your school, business, community center or place of worship. For flyers and more information, please contact us. All toys must be received in our Stamford, CT headquarters by December 1st.	October–December 1
Collect Supplies for Camp It takes a lot of supplies to support the magic of camp each summer. Everything from crayons for Arts & Crafts to the batteries in flashlights to baseball gloves needs to be donated or purchased with monetary donations. A Supply Drive can be run at any time of year in your school, business, community center or place of worship.
